Professor Iain Glen MBCHB FRCP (Glas) FRC Psych DPM, Medical Director

Professor Glen is the founder of the Ness Foundation, having worked in Psychiatry since 1957 - he remains involved on an advisory basis, challenging the scientists and stimulating debate. Trained in medicine as well as psychiatry, Professor Glen has held research fellowships in both physiology at the University College, London and in pharmacology at the University of Edinburgh.

He became Clinical Director of the MRC Brain Metabolism Unit at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital before moving to the Highlands in 1981 where he established the research group, the Highland Psychiatric Research Group, which later evolved into The Ness Foundation. He has in excess of 80 publications; many of them key papers in the field, and an international reputation in his area of research.
