The gathering will be addressed by three leading speakers and researchers of lipids - Keith Coupland, Professor of Lipid Nutrition at the University of Hull on the subject of plant derived lipids as a viable source of neutraceuticals, Professor Mehar Manku of Amarin Corp. on polyunsaturated fatty acids as pharmaceuticals and Alex Sumich, Research Fellow at Kings College London on the role od Omega-3 fatty acids in brain function and mental health.

The conference is supported by Hi Links, Equateq and Western Isles Local Enterprise (HIE Innse Gall) and aims to promote collaborative working and research between universities and the business community.
