The next meeting of the Highlands Lipids Interest Group will take place at Equateq's Callanish plant near Stornoway, Isle of Lewis on Wednesday 26th September 2007, 9.30am - 2.30pm.  It will be preceeded on the evening of Tuesday 25th September by an official opening reception for Equateq.

The guest speakers at the one day conference of the Lipids Interest Group will be:

Professor Mehar Manku (Vice President of Research, Amarin Corporation) speaking on 'Polyunsaturated fatty acids as phamaceuticals'

Professor Keith Coupland (Professor of Lipid Nutrition, Hull University) on 'Plant derived lipids as a viable source of nutraceuticals'

Dr Alex Sumich (Research Scientist, Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London) on 'The role of Omega-3 fatty acids in brain function and mental health'
